Brakes is recruiting a Business Development Manager to join its Independent Sales Team, covering the Highlands and Moray area.
This role suits a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships, winning new business, and working independently in the field.
The role
You will identify and secure new business opportunities with independent food and hospitality customers across your territory.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with local pubs, restaurants, and independent food businesses.
You will develop tailored commercial proposals to help customers save time and money.
You will manage your sales pipeline, working to clear growth and profit targets.
You will onboard new customers and work closely with Area Sales Managers to ensure a smooth handover.
You will monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform your approach and add value to customer conversations.
Working pattern
This is a full time, permanent role working 39 hours per week.
The role is home and field based, covering Inverness, Elgin and Forres.
A company car or car allowance is provided.
What we are looking for
Experience in field sales or business development is desirable but not essential.
You should have a strong commercial mindset and be motivated by achieving targets.
You should be confident working independently and building relationships face to face.
A customer focused approach and good communication skills are essential.
Foodservice or hospitality experience is an advantage, but full training is provided.
