Enable Scotland is looking for Personal Assistants to support a woman named Heidi as she moves into her new home in Kirkwall.

This is a permanent role with flexible hours, paying £12.82 an hour plus the Orkney Island Supplement, bringing the rate to £15.92 per hour.

Heidi is looking for a small, outgoing team who can help her settle into her new routine and build confidence in the community.

She enjoys shows like Countdown and other quiz programmes, loves numbers and dates, and likes to visit local cafes, historic sites and events.

She also enjoys sensory experiences and visiting the library.

You will support Heidi with her day to day routines, social activities and confidence building.

You will work as part of a close team of Personal Assistants to provide consistent, person centred support.

You will help her develop skills, engage with her community and make the most of her new home.

You will follow Enable’s values to ensure her safety, wellbeing and independence.

You will provide support across a range of shift patterns, including day shifts and occasional overnight support.

What you need

A genuine interest in supporting someone to live their best life.

Good communication skills and a patient, positive approach.

The ability to work well in a team focused on one person’s needs.

Willingness to learn through training, shadowing and ongoing support.

Experience is not required.
