Goldwells is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join its team across its Highland offices.
This role suits someone organised and detail focused who enjoys working with clients and supporting a busy accountancy practice.
The role
You will assist in preparing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
You will prepare and submit VAT returns.
You will process bookkeeping using software such as Excel, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar systems.
You will liaise with clients to resolve bookkeeping and accounting queries.
You will reconcile bank and control accounts.
You will support senior accountants with additional work as required.
You will undertake reception and general administrative duties where needed.
Working pattern
This is a 36 hour role across four days.
Hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 5.30pm.
The role may be based in Kingussie, Grantown, Aviemore or Inverness.
What we are looking for
Previous experience within an accountancy practice or accounts department is advantageous.
You must have strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
You should be confident communicating with both clients and colleagues.
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or similar is required.
You must be able to manage deadlines effectively.
