Breedon Group plc is recruiting an Assistant Quarry Manager to join its operations team at Beauly Quarry in the Highlands.

This is a permanent, full time, hands on role supporting the Quarry Manager in the day to day running of a busy quarry, working closely with a small, experienced team.

The role

Working alongside the Quarry Manager, you will take an active role in supervising daily quarry operations and supporting the timely and cost effective production of materials.

You will monitor plant condition and performance, helping ensure effective use of maintenance services and preventative maintenance schedules to safeguard ongoing site capability.

You will support safe quarry operations, ensuring the site is run in line with operating licences, statutory procedures, and reporting requirements.

Health, safety, and environmental management will be a core focus, with a key role in driving high standards and continuous improvement.

You will help plan, organise, and oversee multiple operations, with each day bringing a varied workload.

What we are looking for

A flexible and proactive approach, with high standards of work performance.

Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Sound knowledge of quarry operations, including blasting, crushing, screening, and maintenance activities.

Ability to plan, organise, and oversee multiple operations effectively.

A valid UK driving licence.

Desirable qualifications and experience

NVQ Level 4 in HSE Quarry Management or equivalent.

Geotechnical Level 4 qualification.

Understanding of Quarry Regulations and ACOP.

IOSH or Supervising Safety qualification, or working towards one.
