Lochailort Inn is a small, family run inn recruiting a Chef and Partner for the coming season, with the intention of building a longer term working partnership.
This role suits a couple or partnership looking for a quieter rural lifestyle and the opportunity to play a central role in a well established hospitality business.

The role

The Chef will lead the kitchen operation, supervising staff and maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness.
You will create and manage a small, regularly changing menu focused on simple, healthy food cooked from scratch.
You will be involved in sourcing and preparing local and seasonal produce, with an emphasis on sustainability and minimising waste.
Experience or interest in butchery, bread making, and producing house made items such as ferments and chutneys would be welcomed.

The Partner role will support the front of house operation and wider business.
You will cover bar, restaurant, and housekeeping duties as required.
You will act as a host for guests and work closely with the kitchen to deliver a warm, personal service.
Training can be provided where needed.

Working pattern

This is a seasonal role starting in March, with the possibility of developing into a longer term permanent partnership.
The inn is in a quiet and fairly remote location.
Access to a car is recommended due to limited public transport.

What we are looking for

The Chef should have experience running or leading a kitchen and maintaining food and hygiene standards.
A practical, sustainable approach to cooking and sourcing ingredients is important.
The Partner should be confident working with people and comfortable in a flexible hospitality role.
Both roles suit people who enjoy working in a small team and taking responsibility.
