ILM Highland

This Community Engagement Officer role with ILM Highland offers the chance to work directly with communities across the Highlands through the Rescued and Ready project.
This is a hands on role focused on promoting repair, reuse and sustainability while building strong local relationships and delivering practical community workshops.

The role
Lead the design, coordination and delivery of the Rescued and Ready project.
Build relationships with local communities, schools, partner organisations and stakeholders.
Develop and deliver workshops focused on repair, reuse and upcycling of small household electrical items.
Promote ILM Highland’s wider services and sustainability message across the Highlands.
Attend outreach events and represent the organisation in the community.
Monitor activity, gather feedback and produce reports on outcomes and impact.

Working pattern
Part time role.
10 hours per week.
Fixed term for 1 year.
Some travel across the Highlands may be required.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.

What we are looking for
Experience in community engagement, outreach or education work.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organise and deliver workshops or group activities.
Passion for sustainability, waste reduction and community development.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience of environmental or circular economy projects is helpful but not essential.
