Forestry and Land Scotland is recruiting Craftsperson Modern Apprentices to join its Land Management team, offering a structured pathway into a long term career in forestry.

This opportunity suits individuals who enjoy practical outdoor work and want to gain a recognised qualification while helping manage Scotland’s forests and land.

The role

Working outdoors across a range of forest and land environments.
Supporting tree planting, fencing and general forest maintenance.
Assisting with upkeep of visitor facilities such as paths, signage and infrastructure.
Contributing to environmental and estate management projects.
Undertaking training towards an SVQ Level 2 in Trees and Timber.

Working pattern

Full time role, 35 hours per week.
Positions available at various locations across Scotland.

What we are looking for

Interest in working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Positive attitude towards health and safety.
Willingness to learn and complete formal training.
Ability to work both independently and within a team.
A full manual UK driving licence or suitable alternative.

No previous forestry qualification is required.
