Parklands Care Homes is recruiting a part time Domestic Assistant to join the team at its Speyside care home in Aberlour, supporting the day to day cleanliness, safety, and presentation of the home.
This role plays an important part in creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the home.
The role
As a Domestic Assistant, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the care home in line with agreed cleaning schedules and infection control standards.
Duties include cleaning communal areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and specialist rooms, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, polishing furniture, cleaning windows, sanitising surfaces, and preparing rooms before new residents arrive.
You will also empty bins, manage cleaning supplies, report faulty equipment, and support deep cleaning tasks when required. Adherence to health and safety and infection control policies is essential, along with completing records and attending mandatory training and staff meetings.
The role is based at Parklands’ Speyside Care Home in Aberlour, a picturesque village overlooking the River Spey.
What we are looking for
Parklands is looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and takes pride in their work. Previous experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.
You should have good communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and feel comfortable working in a fast paced care environment where attention to detail matters.
Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
What is on offer
Pay is £12.21 per hour for a 19 hour per week contract, worked on a rotational day shift basis which may include weekends as required.
