Dunvegan Castle & Gardens is recruiting an Estate Foreman to lead the maintenance and upkeep of buildings across the 41,000 acre MacLeod Estate on the Isle of Skye.
This is a senior, hands on role overseeing a diverse portfolio ranging from the Grade A listed Dunvegan Castle to holiday cottages and heritage properties, within one of Scotland’s most significant historic estates.

The role

Leading and managing the estate maintenance team across a wide range of properties.
Overseeing day to day maintenance and planned works across the estate.
Managing larger winter projects and longer term maintenance programmes.
Ensuring buildings are maintained to a high standard, respecting heritage requirements.
Forward planning workloads, materials, and resources.
Providing a proactive, efficient, and approachable maintenance service.
Working calmly and effectively under pressure while solving problems on site.

Working pattern

Full time role based on the Isle of Skye.
Work pattern aligned to estate and seasonal requirements.

What we are looking for

Qualifications and experience in a recognised building trade.
Proven experience leading and managing a maintenance or trades team.
Strong organisational and forward planning skills.
A practical, solutions focused approach with strong handyman skills.
Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Experience within heritage or construction environments is desirable.
A positive attitude, energy, and a good sense of humour.
