An experienced Underkeeper is required to work a dedicated beat on the mixed sporting Soval Estate on the Isle of Lewis.
This is an opportunity to join a forward thinking estate managing 60,000 acres of grouse moor, hill ground and river system within one of the Highlands’ most striking landscapes.
The role
You will manage your own beat across walked up grouse shooting over pointers and extensive hill stalking.
You will assist with salmon fishing across the full Laxay River system.
You will support flighting and driven woodcock shooting.
You will look after sporting guests to a high standard.
You will work closely with the Head Keeper and two Underkeepers as part of a growing team.
What we are looking for
Proven experience in grouse management.
Strong stalking background.
Practical countryside skills and sound judgement.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team structure.
Essential requirements
Full UK driving licence.
Valid shotgun and firearms certificates.
Package
Permanent full time position.
Comfortable 3 bedroom cottage.
Vehicle provided.
Moving expenses included.
Good kennels available for own dogs.
