Abernethy Trust is recruiting a Head Housekeeper to lead and deliver the day to day housekeeping operation at its centre in Nethy Bridge.
This role suits an experienced and organised person who takes pride in standards, enjoys leading a team, and is motivated by service and community.
The role
You will oversee all aspects of housekeeping across guest accommodation, facilities, and public areas.
You will lead, train, and support the housekeeping team, including general assistants, gap year team members, and volunteers.
You will plan shift patterns around guest needs and operational demands.
You will manage changeovers across accommodation, ensuring all areas are ready on time and to a high standard.
You will maintain safe, hygienic, and efficient laundry operations.
You will manage housekeeping stores, equipment, cleaning supplies, and uniforms.
You will keep housekeeping records and paperwork up to date.
You will deliver deep cleaning and maintenance support during close down periods.
You will contribute to the wider life of the centre and work closely with other teams.
Working pattern
This is a full time, on site role based in Nethy Bridge.
Working patterns reflect guest bookings, events, and seasonal activity.
Evening and weekend working will be required at times.
Accommodation can be provided if required.
What we are looking for
A practising Christian whose lifestyle aligns with the values and doctrine of the Christian faith, as this is a genuine occupational requirement.
Experience leading or supervising a housekeeping or facilities team.
Strong organisational and planning skills.
A calm, practical approach to problem solving.
The ability to work well with others and maintain standards under pressure.
Competence using basic IT systems including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in housekeeping, people management, budget oversight, or holding a driving licence is desirable but not essential.
