A family owned hill farm estate in Argyll is seeking a couple to take on a combined role covering holiday cottage management and estate maintenance.
This opportunity would suit a practical, hands on couple who enjoy rural living, varied work, and being part of a well run estate close to the coast.

Holiday Cottages and Caretaking Role (Part time)

One partner will focus on the day to day running of the holiday cottage business and supporting the main house.

Duties include

Cleaning and preparing holiday cottages to a high standard between lets.
Managing linen, including ironing and arranging weekly deliveries.
Ordering cleaning materials and supplies.
Welcoming guests and acting as a point of contact during their stay.
Cleaning the main house and providing caretaking when the owners are away.
Looking after dogs as required.

This role requires someone organised, trustworthy, friendly, and able to work independently while coordinating with their partner and the owners during busy periods.
A high attention to detail and strong cleaning standards are essential.
A car is provided for this role.

Estate Maintenance Role (Full time)

The second role focuses on estate, farm, and property maintenance, working mostly independently or alongside the owners and other staff.

Duties include

General maintenance of holiday cottages and estate or farm buildings.
Woodland work.
Fencing and repairs.
Tractor field work.
Field weed control.
Mowing cottage lawns.
General estate upkeep.
Supporting cottage changeovers when required.

Experience with chainsaws, tractor work, or excavators is an advantage, but training and tickets can be provided.
A van and quad bike are provided for this role.

What we are looking for

A practical, reliable couple comfortable with rural estate life.
A flexible, proactive, can do approach.
Ability to work independently and take responsibility.
Honesty and trustworthiness are essential.
Strong interpersonal skills when dealing with guests and owners.
Full driving licences are required.
The estate is approximately 20 minutes from local shops.

Accommodation and terms

A modern three bedroom bungalow is provided with the roles.
The property includes three bathrooms, utility room, study, sitting room, and kitchen dining area.
The bungalow is set in a private, elevated position with a fenced garden and open views.
Rate of pay discussed at interview and dependent on experience.
Hours and terms will be tailored to suit the right couple.
