The Isla Spey Deveron Group of Churches is seeking to appoint a Priest in Charge to lead a group of five churches serving rural communities across Moray, Ross and Caithness.
This role suits a priest of deep personal faith who is comfortable leading worship, teaching thoughtfully, and working closely with people in small, connected communities.
The role
You will provide spiritual leadership across a group of five churches operating with a single Vestry.
You will lead inspiring liturgical and musical worship that reflects the diversity of the congregations.
You will teach and preach with clarity, care, and theological depth.
You will encourage individuals to recognise and use their gifts within the life of the church.
You will support and strengthen the unity of the group while respecting the character of each church.
You will help congregations engage with their local communities and ecumenical partners.
Subject to financial viability and with the consent of the Vestry, the Bishop may choose to license the Priest in Charge as Rector during or after the initial appointment period.
Working pattern
This is a full time appointment for an initial period of five years.
The role is based across rural communities in north east Scotland.
Travel between churches will form part of the role.

You should be a priest of deep personal faith and spiritual maturity.
You should be an able and confident leader of worship and preaching.
You should be a thoughtful teacher with a pastoral heart.
You should be comfortable working with people and encouraging participation.
Experience of leading a group of churches is important.
The appointment is subject to satisfactory PVG Scheme membership under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
