Stalker, Estate Worker and Boat Crew

Camusrory Estate is recruiting a full time Stalker, Estate Worker and Boat Crew member to join its small team in one of the most remote and dramatic locations in Britain.
Located at the head of a sea loch on the West Coast of Scotland, Camusrory Estate sits around ten miles from the nearest road and is accessible only by boat from Mallaig.
The estate covers approximately 3,300 hectares and includes three Munros within its boundaries.
The role offers a rare opportunity to live and work year round in a wild Highland environment as part of a close knit estate team.

The role

You will support the management of the estate’s deer population, including the annual red deer cull.
You will assist with stalking operations and larder management.
You will operate and maintain estate infrastructure including boats, vehicles, equipment and estate buildings.
You will work with a wide range of vessels within the estate’s fleet, from smaller boats to larger workboats used for transport to and from Mallaig.
You will assist with general estate work including infrastructure maintenance, power generation systems, and occasional support within the estate lodge.

Working pattern

This is a full time position based on the estate.
The role involves year round work in a physically demanding outdoor environment.

What we are looking for

At least three years experience as a deer stalker.
DSC Level 2 qualification.
A current firearms certificate.
Strong physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in remote and challenging terrain.
A willingness to learn new skills and work across a wide range of estate operations.
Experience with boats, machinery, or estate equipment would be advantageous but training will be provided where required.
