Morrisons

Morrisons is recruiting a Store Manager for its Inverness store, offering a senior leadership opportunity within one of the UK’s best known food retailers at a time of growth and change.

This is a pivotal role within the business, suited to an experienced food retail leader who is passionate about people, performance, and creating a genuinely customer-centric culture. As Store Manager, you will play a key role in making the store a great place to work and shop, while ensuring the core supermarket offer remains strong, competitive, and relevant to the local community.

The role

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will take full responsibility for the performance of the store, leading your management team and colleagues with clarity, energy, and purpose. You will focus on improving performance and profitability by continually challenging existing ways of working and encouraging new ideas, fostering a culture where improvement is welcomed rather than resisted.

Listening to customers and colleagues will be central to your approach, ensuring their experience shapes decision making at every level. You will develop a high performance culture through talent development, succession planning, and supportive leadership, helping individuals and teams reach their full potential.

You will work closely with Morrisons Head Office teams to ensure strong availability and range, supporting the ambition for the store to be a true one stop shopping destination. Building and maintaining strong relationships within the local community will also be a key part of the role, positioning the store as a visible and valued part of Inverness life.

About you

You will have proven experience managing a store in a fast paced food retail environment and be a confident, credible leader who can listen, respond, and coach effectively. You are passionate about developing people, spotting talent, and creating a positive and engaged team culture built on trust and shared goals.

You are comfortable resolving challenges, setting clear objectives across departments, and ensuring everyone understands how their role connects to wider Morrisons priorities. You value collaboration, welcome different perspectives, and bring an inclusive mindset to your leadership style.

Morrisons is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. If you are excited about this role but do not meet every requirement, you are encouraged to apply, as you may be the right candidate for this or other opportunities within the business.

Reward and benefits

In return, Morrisons offers a generous salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including a bonus scheme, car allowance, competitive pension, private healthcare for you and your family, colleague discounts, and up to six weeks of annual leave increasing with service. Family friendly policies include enhanced maternity and adoption leave, as well as neonatal and fertility leave.
