BEAR Scotland is recruiting Winter Patrol Drivers in Corpach on a fixed term contract to support their operations through the busy winter season.
You will be part of the team that keeps the North West Trunk Road Unit moving, covering more than fourteen hundred kilometres of some of the most demanding and scenic roads in the country.
You will fit gritter bodies and blades, drive BEAR’s modern winter vehicles and spread salt by hand when required.
You will drive state of the art snow ploughs during winter weather, working to rota and responding to conditions as they change.
You will help keep roads clear and safe, playing a direct role in protecting the public and supporting emergency and essential travel.
You will carry out winter maintenance duties to a high standard and assist colleagues as required by the Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager.
You will follow health and safety procedures at all times and take responsibility for the safety of yourself, the public and your team.
You will bring flexibility to your working pattern to cover shift rotations, call outs and tight deadlines.
You must hold a full UK driving licence and LGV Class C.
Knowledge of health and safety requirements is essential.
Previous roadwork experience is desirable, but full training will be provided.
Plant tickets, traffic management experience or additional health and safety qualifications are an advantage.
You must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in challenging winter conditions.
