These Terms govern your use of Highland Jobs and our related services. By using the site you accept these Terms.

1. Who we are

Highland Jobs is operated by The Highland Times. Our contact email is jobs@thehighlandtimes.com.

2. What we do

We provide an online platform for employers to publish job listings and for candidates to discover and apply. We are not a recruitment agency and we do not enter any contract of employment on behalf of users.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18.
Employers must use accurate business details and have authority to post roles.

4. Accounts

You need an account to post jobs or apply.
You are responsible for your login and for all activity under your account.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or harm the platform.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to use the site lawfully and fairly.
Employers agree to:

  • Post genuine roles with clear and accurate information.
  • Comply with the Equality Act 2010 and avoid discriminatory content.
  • State the correct location, salary range if used, working pattern, and any right to work requirements.
  • Respond to applicants in a reasonable time.

Candidates agree to give accurate information in profiles and applications.

6. Content rules

Do not upload or link to anything unlawful, misleading, offensive, or that infringes rights.
The following are not allowed:

  • Scam or fee to work schemes, pyramid or multi level marketing.
  • Illegal or unsafe work.
  • Adult services or explicit content.
  • Roles that require payment to apply or unpaid trials that are not lawful.
  • Misleading titles, keyword stuffing, or click bait.

We may edit, decline, or remove listings that break these rules.

7. Use of your content

You keep ownership of your listings and materials.
You give us a non exclusive, royalty free licence to host, display, and promote your listings on Highland Jobs and related channels, including The Highland Times.

8. Payments, pricing, and refunds

Publishing some listings and upgrades requires payment. Prices are shown before checkout and may include VAT where applicable. An invoice or receipt will be provided.
Payments are non refundable except where:

  • We fail to publish due to our fault.
  • We are required to refund by law.
    If a listing fails for a technical reason caused by us, we will refund or credit you for a re run.
    We may change prices for future purchases.

9. Featured listings and bundles

Featured upgrades increase visibility for a set period stated at purchase.
Bundles provide a number of listings to be used within the stated window.
Unused listings after expiry are not refundable.

10. Platform availability and changes

We aim to keep the site fast and available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
We may change or improve features at any time.

11. Data and privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, how long we keep it, and your rights. By using the site you agree to that policy. See the Privacy Policy page for full details.

12. Security and fair use

Do not probe, scrape, or overload the platform.
Report security issues to jobs@thehighlandtimes.com and we will respond.

13. Disclaimers

We do not check or endorse every listing or user.
We do not guarantee the quality of applicants, the accuracy of listings, or any hiring outcome.
You use the site at your own risk.

14. Liability

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for all claims in any twelve month period is limited to the higher of the amount you paid us in that period or £200. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of data, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential loss.

15. Termination

We may suspend or close your account or remove content if you breach these Terms or if continued access would risk harm. You may close your account at any time from your settings or by emailing us.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page with the new date. Continued use after the update means you accept the changes.

17. Law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of Scotland. The courts of Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction.
